MMA ODDS AND ENDS FOR TUESDAY: VALÉRIE LÉTOURNEAU OFFICIALLY SIGNS WITH BELLATOR, TOM BREESE INJURED
Ariel Helwani broke the news Friday confirmed on Monday that the former UFC strawweight title challenger Val??rie L??tourneau has signed with Bellator MMA. L??tourneau (8-6) heads into her promotional debut off three straight losses, enduring setbacks to Joanna J??drzejczyk, Joanne Calderwood and many lately Viviane Pereira last December in UFC 206. After her recent slide, the American Top Team merchandise was released from the UFC.
The 33-year-old L??tourneau has had difficulty before producing the 115-pound strawweight limitation and will fit in nicely into the 125-pound flyweight division of Bellator. She strove for Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter but was removed after losing to Roxanne Modafferi by first-round submission.
L??tourneau was given a second chance on notice at UFC 174 where she took home a victory over Elizabeth Phillips at June 2014. She followed that up with wins within Jessica Rakoczy and Maryna Moroz which brought her a title shot against J??drzejczyk at UFC 193. UFC middleweight Tom Breese announces ACL, UFC return unidentified UFC middleweight Tom Breese declared on his Instagram that he’s torn his ACL, and there’s absolutely no timetable for his return. Breese (10-1) was pulled at the last minute out of a scheduled bout with Oluwale Bamgbose at UFC Fight Night 107 back in March because of an irregularity with his heart rate. The 25-year-old suffered the initial setback of his career enduring a reduction to Sean Strickland in UFC 199.
