Liverpool now have the Advantage over Manchester City in the Premier League title race, Based on Graeme Souness.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have won five out of five in the league, opened a gap to defending champions Manchester City during the weekend after Pep Guardiola’s side dropped to a surprise 3-2 defeat at Carrow Road on Saturday.
The absence of centre-back Aymeric Laporte, who faces up to six months out, has already proven pricey with Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones both struggling at the reduction to Norwich.
If asked when Laporte’s lack gives Liverpool the edge in the title race, Souness told Sky Sports News:”I believe so. With Laporte’s harm I thought City would find it difficult against the bigger teams. They did some on them on the weekend.
“I believed they’d get in most games against better teams they’d find it hard to defend and also get trapped out.
It is not a large benefit, you need to remember that we are in September but blood has gone into Liverpool. They have momentum and nobody is asking some questions of them all eyes are on City.”
Souness feels that the aggressive performance culture instilled by Klopp in Anfield is bringing the best from Liverpool’s players.
“They are a group I don’t think anyone loves playing against because they are competitive and they try every component of the game together with the physicality and strategy they all have,” he further added.
“They behave as a group. It is unusual in today’s game however they have players that are willing to point fingers at team-mates if they are not at it. That makes them very powerful.
“They’re the group that no one likes playing against, individuals will say that around City in another manner. You have to be in your best .”
Stones should be given a chance to have an extended run in the starting line-up of Guardiola by laporte’s absence.
Souness believes the England international has got the capacity to be among the best defenders in Europe if he may improve his decision making.
“[City] have to hope Stones and Otamendi could form a venture.
“I believe Stones is just missing something, whether it is his decision? He’s got the capability to be the very best, better than most of them besides [Virgil] van Dijk.
“He wants to get his decision spot on, if he has that City might have among the greatest centre-halves from the nation, maybe outside the country.”
