It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more fun…and much less stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made choices a couple of years ago that is probably cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, because of lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of those beside you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they are a trusted and legit gambling company — we believe you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do Exactly?
What exactly did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We believe a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices spans the spectrum of unethical behaviour, ranging from telling enjoys to withholding cash to having poor security.
There are plenty of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they whined about what network it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, though they were actually on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about the way they were on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) suggested that things were fine and mended, which BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy approach to market a new product. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonder: why do they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The reasoning was almost always because the client allegedly cheated, even though no evidence was provided from BetOnline (from the examples we have read).
1 example that caught our attention was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him cheating (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the road, and also the runaround when they showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories since the files were too big.
(Anyone who knows anything about internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files into your computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated in case you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the participant get his money back. His final update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for him, but also stated the exact same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped into his friend. But here’s the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which no one else could be hurt. He did it so his buddy could have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites would not even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many websites would’ve caught it much earlier ), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS however, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned since that episode.
Forum members indicated that many legit sites would never have allowed two people from the exact same IP to sit at the exact same table. And, if they did, as soon as they suspected chip dumping had happened, the participant’s accounts would come under inspection. He’d never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (which was no one). So it is ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should have the ability to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we want to share is an instance where a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their client’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a fantastic answer, only a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’ll see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is how these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the exact same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to pay their customers.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is committed for SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “But since there is a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through different fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is finished, customers will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, including same day options.”
Nobody knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find more than $1.5 million in liabilities that was not reported from the previous management. I think it’d be safe to assume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we have had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we’ll address in the future in our review once it is logical. But it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They have satisfied clients, if you can believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean to you? In the event you forgive and forget? Are they safe enough for you to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d heard or known about any of the reports above. Nobody in their right mind would. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we also don’t wish to downplay the mistakes they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software is not to be taken lightly.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new direction to manage operations, things have improved radically. So much so we’re comfortable now urging them to our readers.
And it is not only us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, simply to get a change of heart once they saw how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the latest of which we highlight in our review under.
However, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer players. So we feel secure using accounts .
It is up to you to decide if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past out of the way, let’s jump into what is important today — and that is what BetOnline provides concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a good choice of banking options. But you will want to remember that what’s available to you will be determined by your geographical area.
Let’s start with their deposit options.
Here are the payment methods BetOnline takes and also the min/max limitations for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no max Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no max Check
Assess $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The biggest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for credit and debit cards. They are one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, you can utilize:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Could take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take around ten days. Prices will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you choose, this can take 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Requires around 36 hours. Only 3 requests allowed a week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within one day. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours and will cost you $20. Just 3 payouts allowed per week.
What I don’t like is how you are going to pay a commission for every banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 credit every month if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. That means that you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest standing, and likely most popular product, is their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on sports, horses and financing.
In their sportsbook they more or less cover the most popular sports in america. Included in these are:
You can also bet on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Soccer 1 option they have added recently is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how fast that business is growing. Each bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the biggest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they only have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this growing marketplace. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the near future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing to the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be true, nor will it matter if they never expand this section of their sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They offer live gambling too. These options vary constantly, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You can also keep track of a couple of games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and program for future games using their live betting calendar.
1 thing they are known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to increase your wagering levels by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll find in their racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you will see a list of races in their main page. Each record tells you the number of open races there are, which when you click it is going to expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a good section to look through is their racebook information tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know that the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Find out how much you will make if your wager (s) win.Their principles and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It’s a good section if you are new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This section is much smaller than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the caliber or volume that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min quantity or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the first time from the racebook. If you shed BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include signature, array, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets you can bet on will depend on your wager type.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or advertising BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular options for Americans. They’re a part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker websites. After I last checked they had about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. Previously they had many complaints regarding the standard of their software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But after their update we have seen suggestions they might have a few of the best software in the US market.
From worst to best in one update? That may be pushing it. But based on the pictures I’ve seen, their applications DOES look much better.
But, there are still a few areas BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have any options for mobile players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be wonderful to see more game options.
In general, however, it’s wonderful to see they are making advancements and are becoming more aggressive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of that, some of their poker offers or promotions include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay out this to you 5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clear the offer. $50,000 GTD — They are operating a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees more than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, too.
And it is not just a”bonus,” but the matches here must be milder because of the US traffic along with also the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables should be simpler here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.

Here you will find lots of game options ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft software, each of which are known for creating games that are topnotch. Here is how their matches breakdown:

If you Encounter a problem or have a query, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
1 thing to point out here are the accounts I’ve seen about the way BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software is not high-quality, I expected them to excel at client service. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat service (and I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
After the live chat session began, I needed to wait a few minutes before the customer support person bothered to reply, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username too. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username to some live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I clarified that I don’t wish to enter that information to a chat area and, what’s more, the query requires no such information because it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait ten minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they provide exceptional customer services. In addition, he states that your very best choice is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they manage customer support…an
