PokerStars SCOOP 2017 – Day 3 Highlights
One of the most anticipated online poker events, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker completed its 3rd day. There were five poker variations and a total of 15 tournaments that offered a lot of action throughout Tuesday. Here are the most important highlights:
Familiar Names Shine
There were a couple of familiar names that managed to hit the spotlight during the day. Calvin "cal42688" Anderson won his record eight SCOOP tournament in Event #13-H ($530 NL Hold'em, 3-Max, Turbo, Zoom, Progressive KO). The guy obviously loves the series and is always one player to watch.
The popular Twitch star and poker pro Jason Somerville managed to cash in, but came just short of the final table in the Scoop 9-H HORSE competition. Swedish pro and WSOP Main event winner Martin Jacobson also snatched one of the tournaments. He took home over $100k in SCOOP-08-H ($530+R NLHE).
Overall Standings And Interesting Stats
After day 3, a player from Cyprus called MITS 304 is ahead the rest in the PokerStars SCOOP leaderboard with 210 points. He’s followed by Martin Jacobson and Dutch contestant Naza114, both with a score of 195.
The combined prize pools of the SCOOP day 3 events surpassed the $3.5 million mark. Jacobson’s reward of almost $107k was the largest amount won by a single player.
With almost full two weeks remaining by the end of SCOOP, there’s a lot to play for. There are more than $40 million in guaranteed prize pools left and the competition is fierce. We’ll keep following the most interesting news from the series, so stay tuned.
